By the tip of the Triassic, archosaur evolution split into two paths: Just one department of archosaurs developed in the oldest relatives of crocodiles and alligators, and another department advanced into dinosaurs, birds and flying reptiles (often known as pterosaurs). The female stays and guards the nest till the eggs hatch. The hatchlings conta
